As long as I've been writing about diamonds, I have taken great care to have fun, and play around in my descriptions. I might get close to the edge in terms of risqué content.

My overarching goal in descriptions is transparency in describing the plusses and minuses of any item we offer. Honesty is a vital organ in running a trustworthy business.

Close to the edge as I might get, I think part of my responsibility as a member of the trade, and a "Diamond Educator" is to write in a manner that does not insult any of our readers. Plus there are probably stiff penalties should I use the "P" word.

So I'm having a kind of a.... hard time coming up with how to describe this shape. Not every Tom, Dick(ahem) or Harry can find the right words....

So here we have this..."Novelty" shape diamond. I believe that's what GIA will call it.

It's a super cool diamond, make no mistake. It's kinda hard to handle. I actually got a prick from the tweezer tip trying to pick this baby up.

The price kind of shocked me. It ain't cheap. The reason is that you need a much larger piece of rough to get this exact shape than you would for most other .67ct polished stones. The cutter did a great job - the stone really sparkles. It's got an interesting brown color.

Since the stone is at GIA as of this writing, I am as curious as anyone exactly how GIA will classify this diamond. Stay tuned for updates.

If you purchase it now and are unhappy with the GIA report, we will gladly allow you to get a refund. We never stiff anyone :)
