1.01ct Y-Z SI1 Emerald Cut Diamond
Here is a great bargain in a truly unusual, and truly beautiful diamond. I know it's unusual because we've been dealing in natural light yellow diamonds for more than 25 years.
Emerald Cuts are pretty rare in this color for many reasons. Usually, because the cutter will coax more yellow out of the top of the diamond, increasing the GIA color grade by adding the facets to make this a radiant cut. For whatever reason, this one was not cut into a radiant cut to increase the color. Which is just fine by me.
The second part of my initial statement was that the diamond is beautiful. That can never be more than an opinion. I offer that opinion as an emerald cut lover. The light yellow color is readily apparent and very pretty (again in my opinion). I also love the cut- stately 1.31:1 rectangular ratio. Great glitter and life. It's a great SI1 - from the standpoint of the appearance. That is to say, it's an eye clean diamond.
