This is not a "Normal" pear shaped diamond. It's a sweet combination of modern precision and antique sensibilities.

To start, we have an open culet- like a little window at the bottom of the diamond. Super cool! Then we have the tiny table- supported by a generous crown. Combined the top, with the huge Pavilion Facets, and you get extremely bright flashes- and a lot of fire events in the middle/top of the pear. The pointy end is sparkly.

The transition/combination of these two looks is what pear diamond lovers love. There is no negative bowtie - the center of the stone flashes bright.

It's an awesome shape besides, with great surface area for a 1.06ct pear diamond.

The characteristics which caused GIA to grade the diamond I1 are all clearly visible in some of the pictures. Yet in others, they are not nearly as pronounced. IN general- there are never that noticeable in real life.

The largest single imperfection is a feather on the right side when the point is facing up. If you angle the diamond exactly in the correct orientation and there's a lot of light, you can pick that one out. All the other boogers are not eye visible. None compromises the integrity of the diamond.

Thank goodness it's an I1, or it could easily more- if it was an SI2, it would be at least another grand. VS1? Probably double. So there's that.

Not normal... exceptional would be a better word.
