I love this style! It works so will with emerald and diamond. Of course, we're very particular about both.

Let's start with the diamond:
I liked this stone from the first time I saw it.

I hesitated to post it because I thought the pics made it look like it had a dark area in the middle of the stone - "bow tie" as it were... In person, the center is actually brighter than the tip...

If you think about it, the way a pear shape diamond sparkles... it's different at the tips and in "the belly". The flashes coming off the middle are larger, because the facets on the bottom of the diamond are wider, closer to the culet. In pictures, the camera reflects into the middle of the stone- making it appear darker.

It's a lovely stone. GIA calls the fluorescence' Faint' I see it as Medium... making the stone look colorless in many lighting environments.

The Emerald - It's an African Emerald.

I really love African emeralds because
1) they're a lot less costly than Columbian Emeralds
2) they're... shinier. More transparency and life.
The pics here show a lof ot "stuff" going on inside the emerald, but mainly that's due to the light we need to uswe to photograph it. In person, it's deep, deep green. With sparkles. You really don't notice the stuff inside.

The solid platinum ring... stunning!! Made right here in little ol' NYC!!
