2.08ct Y-Z, Light Brown VS2 Round Brilliant Diamond Ring
Where can you find a gorgeous 2ct diamond for under $10k? Fuggetaboutit!!! Nice 2ct diamonds can easily go over $50k.
I asked one of the world's top cutters of brown diamonds for a selection of stones around 2ct - this is the package we got.
I selected this stone from the parcel. This stone is really well cut. Now, the GIA Cut Grade is Very Good. Remember, the GIA cut grade is designed primarily for stones in the colorless, or near colorless ranges.
This diamond has a "dual purpose" Yes, we want it to look like a 2ct diamond in terms of sparkle. Yes, we want it to have the size (more about that in a moment). However, we also want it to show us the incredible light brown color. This stone does all that - and more.
About the size - take a look at that spread - 8.16mm! This is a favorable comparison with any well cut 2ct round diamond. So, you're getting a very bright stone, with amazing size.
VS2 clarity - I love my pictures for the detail, at the same time I hate them for it: Seriously, the pictures highlight the tiny crystal which is located below the table. However, in person, it is just too small for human eyes to be able to focus on it.
The Ring
WOW, what a cool look!
You can be absolutely sure you won't have any friends with a ring like yours. The color is so interesting. I see flecks of pink in there, orange - you name it. The diamond produces nice fire as well.
The ring has a lovely open pink gold head and substantial platinum shank. The shank tapers from 2.6mm wide at the shoulder down to 2.4mm at the palm. It looks and feels amazing!
