While it's true that I'm a sucker for Asscher cuts, I can say objectively, this sapphire kicks butt.

It's a slightly lighter shade of blue and the cut really accentuates the amazing color.

There's a lot of blue sparkle.

The stone was heated during the cutting process (actually heated n the rough, before cutting) which is common.

It's also responsible for the fact you can get a really well cut, pure blue, 2ct+ Asscher that looks this good cut sapphire in this price range.
