I fell in love immediately, when I first saw this diamond. It was cut by a close friend of ours, right here on 47th street. The guy's a genius, in my opinion. I happened to ask him for a 3ct, and he whipped out this diamond.

I was immediately drawn to the fire - large chunky facets - and the spread! The stone has great size for the weight. Then I noticed that one corner of the stone was slightly out of line. You can see it in the pictures.

Actually, since I took the pictures before I examined it all that closely, I didn't notice it till I looked at the pictures. I asked my buddy.

He said they left it as is because many antique style stones are slightly asymmetrical. Someone might actually prefer it this way. He also said he can fix it, and keep the diamond above 2.90ct. You can buy it either way.

In terms of the stone...what can I say- the thing looks white The SI1 is not a carbon spot - the sharpest eyed person could pick it out in the right (bright) lighting, looking closely. I can't. I'm old.

Anyway, day to day it would never be a bother. You really could not see it from a foot away.
