This stone has sprung to a new life in this setting. You hardly notice the imperfection, while the dazzling color and sparkle dominate. The pink diamonds are the perfect contrast to the brown center

The size, oh yes the size!!! This sucker is large. Perfectly proportioned 2.25mm shank. This ring is built for the long haul.

More details about the center stone

If you buy this diamond, you will know it's origins, which is pretty cool. The diamond was purchased as part of a large parcel of rough diamonds from Rio Tinto. The rough diamonds were unearthed in Australia, the Argyle mine. Although the most notable, and costly diamonds from the Argyle Mine are the pinks and reds, many brown diamonds come from the mine as well. The diamond was cut in India by a very very close friend of ours.

In the rough, the cutter diamond was thought to be a clean stone after polishing. It was till the very last part of the polishing ( cutting) process. All of a sudden the diamond showed imperfection that was previously not there. This happens in about 20% or more of all larger borwn diamonds.

The imperfections are totally internal. Basically a hidden "grain" inside the diamond suddenly became quite visible. On the positive side:

The stone is a remarkably well cut Radiant Diamond. It has great sparkle and size for the weight. Although the imperfection is there, the color and sparkle really win the day at arm's length.

Also the size - it is after all a 4 carat diamond.

I do love the color, it's quite coppery and bright. Most important - the diamond is extremely lively in pretty much any lighting environment. A VS stone this size and color would be at least double the price - maybe more. Nice value.
