.58ct U-V SI2 Pear Brilliant Diamond

Here is a very cool stone. I'm always looking for the lower alphabet stones that suit my eye. When a cutter I know mentioned he had a U-V pear, I was immediately interested. Turns out it was sitting in his vault for years.

Instead of yellow, this stone leans brown. GIA noted "Patches of brown color not shown" back in 2002. I see the color as picking up oranges - and even a little pink. Others may see it differently, as it's subtle. The cut gives the stone a great brilliance. Very nice size for a .58ct. An ideal SI2 - totally eye clean.

The diamond is back at GIA getting a new report. I don't know that they would assess it differently today. This is not a blind test because the stone has a laser inscription- which means GIA will refer to the earlier cert. In any event, you'll be getting a new Diamond Dossier report, as well as the original from 2002.
