The Marquise Diamond
What is the "perfect: shape for a marquise diamond?
If you shop most internet sites, the shape is broken down to a simple formula. 2:1 or something like that.
I'll bet there's a chart somewhere purporting to know which is best.
EXCUSE ME, but I do not prefer allowing others to decide what is beautiful to me!!
What if I like a really long slender Marquise- maybe that's the shape that works best with your finger.
Another aspect common to many diamond selling sites on the web is the lack of photos.
The photos are how we can demonstrate to you why we own this diamond- and why you might like to purchase it.
This isn't a long slender marquise. Rather it's a more "Reubin-esque" shape. It's got a little meat on the bones- but not too much.
I find it quite seductive. Of course this is a personal thing.
The color is another aspect worth discussing.
GIA graded the diamond K color. That means it's got a slight tint.
I hate the term "off white"- this color isn't off anything! There is ZERO reduction in sparkle due to the K color. It's just got a warmer sparkle. Many people might fin this actually preferable.
An important aspect to all this is that a K color is about 40 cents on the dollar as compared to a D color. Buys you a whole lot more diamond! Even in an ultra clean VVS1 clarity, the K color is still affordable.
