This is an amazing diamond ring. The center is a beautifully cut cushion diamond. It's rectangular in nature, with a beautiful facet pattern that gives a great sparkle.
These photos give you the idea. The diamond has a simply "drop dead" cut, for cushion lovers... if the shape and personality suit you. There's a lot of size here, you could easily mistake it for a five carat diamond.
The cut, again is responsible for this.
In terms of color, as you can see it's got a lovely light yellow shade. Combine this with the sparkle and as you can see in the video, you get a light canary, which is phenomenally lively... and obviously yellow. The color is the main reason for the amazingly reasonable price. If this stone was a shade or two darker, it could easily be $100,000.
This setting is amazing. Originally part of the setting came from a ring we made for a client in 2006. Many times after wearing a ring for a while, it makes sense to restyle the ring. After the ring came back we took her stone and created a lovely halo for it. That left us with a pair of beautiful step cut bullets set in platinum.
We asked the guys over at our high line shop to build a center setting for this diamond and integrate it into the setting. The results are startling.
The stone is nestled in luxurious 18Karat Yellow gold. The prongs have a lovely claw shape to them. The icy white side stone diamonds with bold steps are the perfect contrast to the soft yellow color and crushed ice look of the center stone. The center stone, thanks to setting it properly, looks significantly deeper than its grated color. The lines of the ring are beautiful. No matter what angle you view this ring, you can tell it is a work of art.
