2.51ct E SI2 Pear Shape Diamond Halo Ring
We represent something of a different experience when buying a diamond. Somewhere in between your typical Internet seller, most of whom have no photos, but some of whom may have one or two – and the traditional brick-and-mortar retail store.
We are obviously an Internet seller, that's how you found us. Not only that, we exploit the power of the Internet to be able to showcase our diamonds. Not with one or two photos, but six, 10, or 20 photos. And videos on many of our items.
The thing about photos is that they have their limitations. Ours show a lot. Sometimes too much- what I mean to say is that some details that seem huge in the photos are rely tiny in real life.
That’s another part of the service we offer. When you shop online, you're often confronted with a list of thousands of stones. How do you sort through them?
On our site, you get a very good visual idea of the diamonds we have in stock – right from the search results page. So there's a lot less of a guessing game that you need to play.
Combine this with the fact that we only offer our custom-made semi mount rings for diamonds that have been purchased from us, and we're offering a package that is very comprehensive. Remember, there is some liability any time a diamond is set. If we are setting a diamond that you purchase from us, we will be assuming the liability.
Then we have the SI2 clarity. This is the best type of SI2 clarity. On a list, all SI2 clarity diamonds look the same – in person. It's not the case at all. Some SI2 o diamonds have fewer but larger imperfections.
On paper, if you're not looking at it, this diamond presents a risky proposition. It's a very high color, with medium blue fluorescence. In some stones that might produce results that are less desirable. Not this stone.
This stone has a bunch of little tiny imperfections – and they are dispersed throughout the diamond. I suppose if one has immaculate vision and they're looking at the diamond very closely. They might be able to pick out one of the pinpoints. If you're over 40, forget it.
The next thing you look at any pear-shaped is the actual shape. Even if a list gives you the length and width, but still doesn't really give you the shape. You really need to look at the overall curve of the outline of the diamond. Then you need to look at the sparkle pattern and how that looks.
In this case, the diamond has a perfectly organic teardrop shape. In terms of sparkle. It's a traditional pear-shaped diamond – that is to say modified of a round brilliant cut, with a lot of the sparkling fire of around brilliant. You do get more sparkle at the tip of the smaller facets bounce the light back and forth more than the larger facets in the middle.
But there is no detrimental "bowtie" effect.
So what we have here is a gorgeous large colorless pear-shaped diamond at a bargain price. It will looks absolutely gorgeous in this hand forged "Uber" halo.
The Ring
The ring is one of our “Uber” models.
It’s all platinum and perfectly formed around this amazing pear shape diamond. The outer edge of the halo measures a hefty 15.4 x 10.6mm. The 2mm shank further emphasizes the visual impact of the halo. We can use such a small shank due to advanced hand forged manufacturing methods.
This ring is set using the “bright cut” method of micro pave. This give us the lovely smooth side profile- many of our rings are set using “cut down."
The personality of the stone is perfectly reflected in the ring.
About the SI2 clarity, now that the ring is set:
The tiny carbon point is easy to see in some of the photos, but looking at the ring in person I find the stone to be eye clean. Having said that, the sharpest eyed person might be able to see the tiny spot.
