3.24ct J SI2 Round Brilliant Diamond
If you're looking for a large, drop dead gorgeous round brilliant cut diamond, this stone should be a serious contender. From the standpoint of grades- it's a "borderline" stone. J color. SI2 clarity Both of those, from a statistical standpoint, are the lowest parameters one should consider for a white, eye clean diamond.
Of course not all J color stones look white, and not all SI2 clarity diamonds are eye clean. This stone has got you covered on both bases. In terms of color, the J is mitigated by the beautiful cut, and the medium blue fluorescence. If you're extremely color sensitive, you may notice the color. However, most people are not that sensitive, and would need to hold this stone next to one of a higher color grade to even notice any tint. It's bright.
The SI2 clarity is another aspect which is problematic in many stone - especially in a large size, like this one. In this particular case, the stone's imperfections are numerous - that's a good thing. Wait, what? It's true because in this example, a bunch of little imperfections is a lot better than one large one. Then the location - at the edge of the diamond, these factors render the imperfections invisible. So this is an eye clean diamond.
GIA graded the diamond "Excellent" cut grade. It's not considered an "ideal Cut" diamond. So it falls into the category of super well cut GIA EX stones that are not cut for Hearts and Arrows style performance. Instead the stone trades some contrast for greater scintillation - and greater spread. Both of these, to many people, is a very good thing. The stone is stunning in person, and it's HUUUGE.
It's definitely not the cheapest J/SI2 on the market, but there's not a better one out there.
