.99ct E SI1 Radiant Cut Three Stone Diamond Ring

Here is a really cool radiant cut diamond. It is unusual in the fact that it is .99 carats. Generally speaking cutters will adjust the angles on the diamond just a bit to save that extra point and come out with a 1ct diamond. It's possible the cutter was shooting for one carat, and just missed the mark. In this case, it really doesn't matter. It's an extraordinary diamond from the standpoint of physical size for its weight. In fact, it's much larger than most one carat radiant cut diamond on the market today at 6.56 mm x 5.80 mm.

In that regard, it is a bargain.

It is important to remember that any website claiming to agree the cut of a radiant diamond – or any fancy cut diamond, is basically banking on an uneducated consumer who does not understand the difference. The reason is that there is an established cut grade for round brilliant cut diamonds issued by GIA. This is an industry accepted standard so that when sellers advertise a GIA EX cut grade, they're honestly representing the diamond that has been graded to have an excellent cut by a lab that is accepted and trade. Since GIA does not grade the cut of any other shape of diamond besides round, sellers that are assigning cut grades to fancy shaped diamonds on the Internet are making them up. There's no other way to put it, because they are not basing it on actual appearance, they're just using measurements and listings. But since GIA does issue cut grades for round diamonds, many consumers naturally assume that the cut grades listed on websites issuing cut grades for fancy shaped diamonds have the same legitimacy.

Furthermore, when it comes to the cut of fancy shaped diamonds, personal preference becomes a much more important aspect. After all, round is round. To radiant cut diamond of identical length by width dimensions can have totally different appearances due to corner size and other facet placement issues.

Having said all that, I will tell you that the fact that the diamond is as large as it is dimensionally, in this case does mean it is not quite as well cut as well as what I would consider to be the best cut radiant diamonds. If we were to compare a diamond that had the same dimensions of length by width, in an original radiant cut, for example, it would be double the price. Or more.

The bottom line is, the diamond looks very pretty and is not small by any means.

In terms of clarity, it is definitely an eye clean SI1 Clarity Diamond. There's no black imperfections, and although I can see reflections of the imperfections in the photos, I cannot see this in real life.

It is "original" - that means it has not been assorted. The goods range from faint, light yellow up through Intense yellow. They were sorted for clarity - all are pretty clean.

Buying in this manner allows us to have a great selection, and to offer the diamonds at great prices.

We sent most of the diamonds off to GIA.

In this case we picked a pair of cushions with very strong color.

They compliment the E color beautifully.
