1.80carats is a fairly rare carat weight for a cushion diamond.
There is a ton more 2.00ct stones on the market as compared to 1.80s. The reason is that cushion shapes allow cutters a lot of freedom in shape. The rough diamond is measured by a computer, which assists the cutter in plotting the polished diamond inside the rough stone.
It is more often that the cutter can polish away a little less of the diamond here, and there, with a result being a 2.00ct stone. Sometimes such stones will look really good, but sometimes diamonds cut with extra weight can show negative effects. Looking small is one such negative effect.
In this case, the 1.80carats is perfectly laid out. The stone has as much surface area as many of the aforementioned 2carat diamonds.
The sparkle is very consistent, from edge to edge, girdle to girdle.
There are a million tiny sparkles, virtually no dark areas or patterns.
You can see the tint in the photos.
Surely, if a person is color sensitive and they desire a D color, this is not the stone for them.
But a lot of people are not sensitive color in that way. We have found that many people actually prefer a "softer white" of J-K color.
It is a perfectly eye clean VS1.
