Kind of funny how life works – this ring is actually here by accident. What happened was this: we made a ring on a special order for a client, with a different diamond than this. It was supposed to be this style, except with a split shank. Well, everyone makes mistakes, and we really couldn't blame anyone for this. We carefully removed the diamond that was in this ring, and remade the ring to meet the customers order.

So what to do with this one? Well, it turns out we had a stone that fit perfectly in the ring. The stone fits perfectly – and it looks so incredibly orange. The color is bright even in a dim room. The style is a classic very solid and beautifully built. Everyone loves the two surprise diamonds.

More details about the center stone

We have had this amazing stone for quite a while, and the truth is… I don't think we've ever found the perfect home for it – until now. The stone is over the top remarkable in terms of it's natural Orange Color.

Orange is actually as rare as Blue in diamonds....well, pure orange I should say. The presence of brown and orange together is far more common - and generally brown predominates. In this case, the Orange wins - big time. In addition it is remarkably bright orange. So much so that our setter didn't think it was a diamond when he first saw it - the color is that amazing.

When we bought the diamond, it came with a GIA "Color Origin" report. The stone is technically an I1, but the depth of color prevents the imperfection from being visible. You can see why in these ultra close up photos. There's a "feather" in the middle of the stone. However, in real life, it's extremely difficult to see.

If the grade was Fancy Vivid Orange - in a stone this shape and size, and the stone could be in the hundreds of thousands. The stone is visibly orange - regardless of the brownish modifier. It is a great stone to own - rare and desirable.
