Snow in Summer.

A discreet juxtaposition of fire and ice, old and new. Everlasting, natural allure that transcends seasons, transcends time. Virgin crystal, brilliance and fire.

Here, an icy warm, brand-new 2.01ct M-color diamond is lovingly and masterfully cut and styled to look like an antique mine cut diamond. This renaissance beauty is complimented by a frothy white halo of fresh, snow-flake flowerets.

The exquisite, paradoxical combination makes a vision of timeless charm and pristine splendor.

A diamond ring to last a lifetime – season after season.

I love old mine diamonds. The problem is that waiting for old stones to come on the market is not practical. Now we don't have to do that. We've now got a cutter who is cutting old mine diamonds from new rough.

This one is a great example.

The cut is amazing. It has all the charm of an stone cut 100 years ago- but it's also got the benefit of modern technology. Today, cutters can use computers to measure and plot the rough diamond, showing potential results based on the course of action the cutter chooses. This allows our friend, the skilled, creative cutter to produce a stone with all the "hallmarks" of the old stone, yet cut symmetrically.

This cut makes it really tough to guess the color. At times it looks white, other times, faint yellow.  I love the softer white colors because of the way they look. The fact they cost a fraction of the price for a G color is just more reason to love them.

As you can see, the stone is pretty deep- especially the crown. This is partly responsible for that "chunky- flash"

Modern technology allows the large facets to be cut more symmetrically.

The Ring

The ring was made around the stone- which is why it fits so well. The diamonds are selected for fine cut, color and clarity- and it shows.

The setting suits the stone, in terms of style. The color still changes based on the lighting. A very interesting and lovely piece.

We have a great economy of scale- we build a lot of rings, which allows great consistency, and quality, at a great price. The ring is platinum- and it's got a nice weight to it.
