If you love pink
diamonds, and have been shopping, you're already familiar with the treated
stones. You've probably also seen the natural ones that go for $100,000+
This diamond is a more
reasonable natural alternative to either treated diamonds, or the six figure
variety..
Why should the price be
what it is? The main thing is the color. The diamond is predominantly light
brown- one of the least costly colors in diamonds. You can see this color in
the shot of the diamond lying face down on a white piece of paper.
Lucky for us, we
intend to set the diamond face up. As you can see, the pink color is evident in
the "face up" position.
The diamond has no imperfection to speak of. The clarity grade of VS2 was
assigned by GIA due to the graining lines you can see in some of the photos.
What are these?
Diamonds have a "grain".
That is to say, like other rocks, there's natural patterns in the rock. When we
polish the diamond, these patters are generally hidden by the fact the diamond
is polished.
But when you polish the
diamond, some surfaces are far easier to shine than others. In the case of this
diamond, the graining is so strong it could not be polished out of the diamond.
I believe GIA purposefully gave the diamond VS2 clarity as it's totally eye
clean- and none of these striations are visible in real life.
In fact, the cutting is
excellent. The shape is lovely, the brilliance remarkable.
As
you can see from these photos, the diamond has a beautiful cut, and will
look lovely on your finger. It's a very pretty Diamond, for not a whole lot
of money.
