Let's talk about Pink and Purple diamonds.

I cannot tell you how many people call asking about pink diamonds that are not familiar with the pricing of pink diamonds. I hate to have to break it to them that a one carat natural fancy pink diamond can easily be a hundred thousand dollars.

Purple? Even more so.

In this case it is a pink purple - quite a lovely shade.

It happens to be a really well cut diamond.

I'm calling the diamond I1. I want the clarity grading to be strict. In fact, the imperfections are not a distraction to the beauty of the stone. There is no black carbon. This could very well be an SI2 diamond.

As always, we try to show the diamond in a light environment that reflects what we see with our real life eyes.

In this case, the diamond does take many different appearances in different lighting environments. It's going to look beautiful in a ring.

The Ring

Now that it is set, the purple is really... clarified. It is definitely more purple than pink. Gorgeous die struck platinum shank - it feels like silk.

Elegant, classic hand forged top. Ball prongs. Remarkably smooth in spite of all those prongs. The guys have gotten the whole top of the ring to be set virtually on the finger - they got it really low - which I love. So do many of our clients.

The white diamonds are large enough to have eight individual personalities as you look at the ring. They are all excellent, in terms of cut, and they are all well matched.
