.57ct Fancy Light Brownish Greenish Yellow CHAMELEON Emerald Cut Diamond
I am a lover of emerald cut diamonds. This one is quite unique. It has a rare characteristic which causes a change in color after the stone has been kept in the dark for a while or if it's exposed to extreme heat. It is known in the trade is a Chamaeleon. As opposed to most chameleons I've seen, this one has a fairly light color – that makes it doubly rare.
I absolutely love the soft greenish yellow color. GIA identified brownish in the mix as well, but it's really not an obvious element looking at the Diamond. They also graded the diamond I1 clarity. The imperfections in the stone are not easily visible. While the grade is correct, my advice is not to have that cause you to prejudge the stone. The imperfections are not obvious and they do not detract from the overall beauty.
As I mentioned above, I'm in emerald cut lover – and the cut on this one is just beautiful. I could imagine the stone looking great surrounded by Pink Diamonds - and we are just the guys to do that.
