Here is an exceptionally desirable diamond - from a few different standpoints.
It is easy to point to the fact that Intense Yellow, Internally Flawless is an incredibly lofty grade. For that reason alone, It would be a diamond of note.
However, this stone is so much more special than even that grade indicates.
Take the cut - which immediately caught my eye. It is a cushion, however “cushion cut” a very broad term.
Although it’s rectangular, however there i’s not a straight line anywhere on the diamond. A shape like this looks amazing in a ring.
The diamond was originally cut to a 3carat Intense Yellow VS1 clarity.
We re-cut the diamond and achieved the Internally Flawless grade from GIA, losing .20ct in the process.
So you are looking at an exceptional diamond.
It is by no means the least costly stone of its size and grade. I understand how the market works, we're not looking for the lowest priced diamonds. Truly exceptional diamonds are never the lowest priced. In this case, the cutter was resourceful enough to refine a 3 ct diamond into a 2.80 which is actually worth a little more. Remember, one 2 3/4 ct Fancy Intense Yellow Internally Flawless diamond can be worth as much as 50% more than another - based on the complex set of factors that makes a Fancy Intense Yellow diamond desirable.
The Ring
We used these remarkable French Cut Diamonds. The six stone set consists of ( on each side) a trapezoidal French Cut right next to the Intense Yellow. Next is a square French Cut - leading down to the small triangular French cut at the end.
The Uber shop created an elegant, sparse design that makes the diamonds the stars of the show. The ring is incredible to the touch. And of course to the eye.
The center really looks like a Fancy Vivid Yellow at this point.
