.61ct Fancy Intense Yellow I1 Cushion Cut Diamond
I do love a great bargain. This stone stands out immediately for its color. It is as close to vivid yellow as you can get not get the grade. The color is just beautifully pure and canary yellow. The sparkle of the diamond is also beautiful. One way I get bargains, is to look for diamonds that have aspects on the GIA report which will impact the value, and therefore the price, but not have such a great impact on the visual. In this case the diamond does have a few aspects which achieve our budgetary goals.
First, there is an imperfection causing GIA to grade it I1 clarity. The placement and nature of this imperfection prevent you from being able to see it with your naked eye whatsoever. The sparkle hides it. The imperfection has no impact whatsoever on the durability of the diamond. It is wholly internal and contained inside the stone.
Then you have the fact that the shape is slightly asymmetrical – causing GA to grade the symmetry as Fair. This will not be an issue at all once we set the diamond into a ring. If the diamond was a vivid yellow VS1 with excellent symmetry, it might not look all that much different, but it would be priced at about double this stone.
