Here is a lovely split shank halo ring. Almost more accurate to call it a “double shank” ring as the split never actually comes to a single wire. The shanks follow a more angular split. Other rings may be more of a “Y” split, this one is more a “V”. This is particularly well suited to an angular stone, like a Radiant cut. It will also look good with many other shapes - cushion, round and I am sure we can adapt it to a pear, or even a heart shape.
The ring is one of our more affordable hand forged models - that means lovely micro pavé, and delicious claw prongs on the center diamond. The ring used for photography featured a 1.05ct center diamond with 72 Round brilliant diamonds. They are selected for excellent cut. They are colorless and VS or better clarity.
Since the wires that comprise that ring are formed around the center diamond there are no gaps- everything is perfectly fit.
The style is comfortable and there’s a great hand presence.
The reason our semi mounts are shown with the center diamonds set into them is simple. We do not keep semi mounts on the shelf. Virtually every ring we make is custom made. That's why the center stone will always fit properly with no gaps. That's why things will always be in proportion.
When looking at our three stone rings, you will notice that the level at which the three stones are set, with the girdles on the same plane. This is virtually impossible to achieve using semi mounts you see in a showcase- shown without a center diamond. Generally the center diamond is set on a "peg head". This type of setting allows a quick delivery – but it also means the center diamond will sit much higher than the side stones.
