- 4.02 Light Yellow Radiant Cut Diamond
I1 Clarity Item #R1626
14karat White Gold Halo Ring
Imperfect diamonds
represent amazing value for buyers. The challenge, for me, as well as you,
is how to buy imperfect diamonds that look great, and still offer the value
people expect in an I1 stone.
We're lucky on that account- we deal in
quantities of yellow diamonds- so we have the sources which are as close to
the rough as you can get.
THIS
4.02 Light Yellow I1 Radiant Diamond Here's a very impressive radiant cut diamond- it's cool to be able to use a ruler to measure your diamond- this one's about 3/8 inch long. As educated diamond shoppers know, the "cut" of a diamond is of supreme importance. This diamond is VERY well cut. I don't use labels to identify how well a diamond is cut- each one deserves it's own examination
and evaluation. Fancy Shaped diamonds in particular are quite individual- so attempting to pigeonhole an
"Ideal" table/depth comb is not productive.
It's generally true
for me that a rectangular diamond like this one, with a depth in the low
60's is going to look large for it's weight- as does this one- people might
guess it's a 5 carat. The people who cut this
diamond are among the world's best ( IMO) at this type of cut, this type of
color. And this stone shows why- the cut is
simply sublime- amazing. Total Sparkle. All dazzle, all the time, no breaks.
This, in spite of a few black spots that you might be
able to pick out, if you try hard.
The photos above and below
it's possible to see the imperfections toward the bottom of the diamond.
There is no imperfection that breaks the surface, and none are "structural"

The setting for a diamond of
this color is crucial. Do it right and you've got a Canary Sparkler.
Do it wrong and you get ...well, an ugly ring.
Here's our idea on how to do it right.
It's a 14karat white gold
ring- with 76 diamonds set around the massive center, and down both forks
of the split shank design.
In terms of color, the ring
has certainly perked her up a bit. There's a
number of reasons for this. The proximity so the amazing well cut icy
white halo diamonds is one, for sure. Another
aspect to the light yellows is their chameleon like personality.
In some lights the the ring looks very yellow- and others
it looks lighter- this is shown in the photos -where you can see a wide
variety of hues for the same diamond, below it looks quite light.
The photo below makes it
look like a Fancy Light Yellow. Which it does in person as well, in some
lighting situations. Oddly enough, it looks very yellow in low light
situations. The stone is dazzling. The ring
is designed for beauty, and engineered for comfort. It achieves both goals
admirably.
Here is a parcel (group) of diamonds we recently purchased. All are natural light yellows. We own hundreds and hundreds of carats of Natural fancy Yellow Diamonds- because we sell hundreds and hundreds of carats. Unlike many "internet diamond companies" we own our diamonds | |
