This is a
total "one of a kind" diamonds. It likely won't matter to the person who
falls in love with this diamond that it does not easily fit into any
category. In fact, that might be one of it's most attractive
characteristics.
I love the way this diamond is cut. No question in my mind, the cutter was
working with an unusual shaped rough.
The shape
of most diamonds depends largely upon the shape of rough diamond the
cutter started with.
I believe
that the diamond is not totally symmetrical- although it is not obvious to
the naked eye at all- I can see it in these photos.
Again- the
person that has an idea how we should set this won't really mind.
In terms
of "Cut" the diamond is phenomenal. The sparkle is wall to wall-
no break or dead spots .
In terms
of color, it could either look like a "soft" white- or very faint yellow.
If we
bezel set the diamond in yellow gold I think it would pick up some color.
I have scoured the diamond with my 10 power diamond assorter loupe- I cannot see any imperfection whatsoever. Therefore I am grading VS1 clarity. The diamond has never been to GIA.
