Fancy Vivid Yellow Cushion Cut Diamond
GIA Fancy Vivid Yellow diamonds are rare. Some are exceptional.
This diamond is exceptional in any pool of Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamonds.
Exceptional when it comes to cut. Very close to square.
I love the way Fancy Colored Diamond cutters have adopted some of the hallmarks we love about antique diamonds. High crown, smaller table.
It is not to say one way is "better" than another. Just different.
In this case, this rare diamond, has a rare and beautiful interpretation of an old cut in its shape. It is still a dazzling diamond with a bottomless pit of sparkle.
Mostly the diamond is exceptional for the remarkable pure yellow it exhibits. It stands to reason that not every vivid yellow is the same level of "vivid-ness"
In fact, there is a HUGE difference between this diamond, and many vivid diamonds that "just made" the grade. Stones in this category look close to an intense yellow, not to say there's anything shabby there!
