.70ct Fancy Intense Yellow I1 Cushion Cut Pink Diamond Halo Ring
I love finding a diamond cut this well, with a gorgeous color, that was graded I1 clarity by GIA.
Let me clarify that - I love finding stones of this clarity that look good. The reason, is the price.
Clarity grading is widely misunderstood.
If GIA grades a diamond I1 clarity, that does not necessarily mean the Diamond will have imperfections visible to the naked eye. Yet, it is also possible that the imperfection(s) may have no perceptible impact the brilliance of the diamond.
Of course that is not always the case. It is likely that at least 60 to 75% of all diamonds graded I1 clarity by GIA possess imperfections that are either noticeable with the naked eye, or having an impact on the overall brilliance of the diamond.
This particular diamond is a phenomenal I1 diamond.
The imperfection in this case, is a small "garden" of black carbon. Sometimes black carbon might be a negative thing in the stone – in this case it is tucked away in a spot where it just blends in.
There is no impact whatsoever on the overall brilliance of the stone. I do not believe it would be possible for someone to see the imperfection with the naked eye - however I could not guarantee that. It is possible the sharpest eyed person might be able to spot it, but the imperfection is by no means prominent.
In every other way, this diamond rocks! The cut is phenomenal. The color is a very strong intensity - getting close to Vivid.
The Ring
The ring is one of our most popular models, crafted in platinum and 18 karat pink and yellow gold.
The white diamonds are bright and white- super well cut. The pink diamonds? Amazing. Really sweet pink color - and well cut. We only use prime quality melee diamonds – it makes a huge difference in the finished product.
The ring is beautifully finished - it's substantial in weight. This is a very well constructed ring. All of our rings go out with a lifetime workmanship warranty.
The design, and cast construction of this particular style of ring is incredibly durable and can be worn every day.
I mentioned above how the clarity grade impacts price. If this Diamond was a VS1 clarity and cut this well, the ring would be at least $1500 more than this one.
