We start with a very cool antique style Old mine brilliant- totally colorless.
Perfect for a centerpiece here, because it picks up colors from the vivid hues surrounding it.
The pink diamonds work to great effect - sure they are both a bit hazy due to imperfection - but the color is easy to see.
Also they are both lively regardless.

Over time cutters havd odd pieces of rough that do not fall squarely into the normal mold.
In this case he took the opportunity to craft a modern stone that looks exactly like a stone cut 150 years ago including having survived 150 years.
You will notice that there appear to be a few chips in the girdle.
They are NOT chips, they are "naturals". The cutter left them for authenticity.
The rough that the diamond was cut from is colorless and clean. |
