Here's a total one of a kind piece.
Most of the time, stones in the Y-Z range have a yellow tinge to them. It's rare, but sometimes GIA grades a stone Y-Z due to a brown tinge.
Dark brown diamonds are far more common than more faint ones - and very few truly faint brown diamonds come to market.
So stones in this color range are so hard to find.
Even then, sometimes when you set them, it just doesn't translate into a pink looking diamond. Believe me, we've tried on many occasions.
This particular stone has come to life in this setting. Sure, there's still times it looks brown- but many times it flashes like a deep pink diamond.
Very cool piece.
More details about the center stone
The stone is no exactly conventional in it's cut- it's a bit deep, so it looks a bit smaller than other 1.42ct diamonds...but there's no reduction in sparkle.
Also now that she's in this setting size is not an issue. |
