2.34ct Fancy Intense Yellow SI1 Three Stone Diamond Ring
What I love about Fancy Intense Yellow Diamonds
After looking at many thousands of Fancy Intense Yellow diamonds, I have gotten a pretty good sense of what I love. What do I love in a Fancy Intense Yellow Diamond?
1) Strong Color. Fancy Intense Yellow is roughly equivalent in price to an E-F color diamond Radiant. Since there is a high price to be paid for the distinction of being "Intense" I want to see that easily. When I open the parcel paper, containing the diamond, I want to go "WOW!"
As opposed to "That diamond got intense yellow from GIA?"
There is a fairly wide range within GIA's "Fancy Intense Yellow" color grade. Clearly a stone that's very close to Fancy Vivid Yellow (the next deeper color grade) is worth more than one which is close to Fancy Yellow (the nest lighter color grade) In many cases, I think the difference is worth the extra money.
2) Brilliance. It's hard to say which of these attributes I notice first - color, or brilliance- possibly because they work together.
3) Positive Cut characteristics - In this regard we look at Fancy intense Yellow diamonds in somewhat of a differently than colorless. For example, certain parameters may be relaxed, when judging the cut, combined with the number 1 and 2 aspects. In other words, a particular buyer might accept a stone that deeper in a fancy Intense Yellow than they might in a D color.
How does all this relate to the 2.34carat diamond we are offering.
This diamond scores well on the "open the parcel paper" score - and let's face it, first impressions are important. This one has a strong lemony yellow color, which is immediately apparent- about 75% of the way closer to Vivid Yellow. Combine this with a phenomenal "brilliance quotient".
The diamond has a lovely, even brilliance, with a distinct lack of patterning - meaning no dark areas. it has good visual size for a 2.34ct Radiant Cut - but I'm not saying it looks larger than it's weight.
The SI1 clarity:
This is a totally eye clean SI1 diamond. You can see the imperfection in the photo below. Far left side - about 9:00. It was really a matter of luck that I captured it so well with the camera- it's impossible to make it out naked eye from the top of back. The reason is the soft nature of the imperfection - and lucky placement.
The photo below - the teeeniest bit away from a perfect focus - is more approximate of how human stereo vision sees this cut- you can't focus on the bottom of the diamond. And the imperfection disappears.
The Ring
For this particular beautiful intense yellow diamond, we decided to set it off with some natural light yellow diamonds on the side. In my opinion, the combination works incredibly well. Each stone makes the other look brighter.
The side diamonds also have a complementary type of sparkle and cut to the center diamond. All three are throwing back millions of tiny flashes constantly. A beautiful combination of white and yellow flashes.
The three diamonds are beautifully positioned nice and low close your finger, and in perfect relation to each other. The entire ring has a beautifully smooth feel to it.
As with all our rings, we will include a complementary size adjustment. Since we make our rings, we can adjust the size and ship them to you with no evidence that the ring was not made in the finger size you ordered it in.
If you like the ring in these photos, you will love it in person - we guarantee it!
