1.59ct L SI1 Asscher Cut Diamond Halo Ring
Let's talk about Asscher cut diamonds.
If you have been shopping Asscher cut diamonds, you may be aware that there is an "branded" Asscher cut diamond. I have experience with these branded diamonds, and they are gorgeous. There is no question about it. There are, however, many variations on the branded stones. Diamonds that are different in ways from the branded diamonds, yet designs that are evocative of the original.
In some cases, these variations may be preferable than the original to certain people.
It does bear mentioning that the branded stones are very hard to come by, and are far more costly than the non-branded diamonds.
Many of the non-branded Asscher cut diamonds you see will have three steps on top.
This particular diamond has before a four step top. I have outlined them on the left side of the diamond below so you can see what I'm talking about.
GIA classified the cut as "Cut Cornered Square Step Cut"- this also makes this a very rare diamond. The steps are so distinct - mesmerizing!
This diamond is a lovely faint yellow diamond - GIA graded it "L" color - and I see the tint.
This makes it actually pretty rare, and rarer still in the fact that its rarity does not affect its price. This is about the least expensive color you can find.
The cut of this one is undeniably mesmerizing, and quite beautiful.
This particular diamond is a very good SI1 clarity. There is a tiny, faint black " Twining Wisp" deep inside one of the corners. You would never be able to see this with your eye. In terms of color, it is generally a faint yellow. Although sometimes it will look like a colorless diamond.
The Ring
The ring is dazzling- from just about any direction. There's 70 one point diamonds on the diamond-encrusted shank!
Still, it's smooth to the touch.
The halo design perfectly suited to this unique Asscher cut.
