We are fortunate enough to be near some of the best and largest cutters operating in New York City. Out of about 150 cushion diamonds between 1-2 cts and J-K in color, we were able to select 9 stones that are simply amazing.
There is an aspect to the "crushed ice" design that makes it preferable for bringing out the yellow in natural light yellow diamonds.
Odd, but somehow true that the cut is a great help in masking any sort of "J color tint" a diamond may show.
In this case, the total depth is 58.7% - which really makes this a different sort of crushed ice than many fancy colored diamonds. Held next to a D color stone with a similar cut, and the difference would be easy to see- but on it's own, not so much.
So we get a stone that looks large, colorless, and with a lot of sparkle. Sounds like a win/win.
