Here's a beautiful Purple Cushion Sapphire. I'm one of the buyers for the company, and I'm very particular about sapphires. In the case of purple, I'm looking for a "regal" color. I want depth of color- and an even hue- but I need to see a lot of flashes of white light coming back. Sparkle.
The stone is natural - although we assume it was heated. The shape is stunning as well and it does look large for its weight.
The setting is a beautiful 14Karat White Gold Halo. The halo suits the sapphire perfectly - it enhances the lovely shape of the stone. The ring has a milgrain edge to it, giving this ring a more antique feel.
