We are now working with master gemstone cutter Roger Dery. This is a precision cut stone, cut by Roger. He is a cutter who sources much of the rough at the actual mines. This means we get accurate origin info as well as if a stone was treated or not.
This is a spectacular Cushion Cut Cut Tsavorite Garnet. The this stone was mined in Sri Lanka C1947, and was owned by Max Schuster - one of the most famous colored stone dealers for many years. Roger re-cut this stone into the beauty that it is. This stone is truly hard to capture its beauty with a camera, but it is a fantastic stone in terms of both color and cut.
The stone is natural. However, like many sapphires, it is heated.
Roger is using AGL for the grading as he feels that it is a very good alternative to GIA for colored stones since AGTA no longer has a lab.

In the photo on the right, you can see what I'm talking about.
The Sapphire on the left is quite a nice one. Believe it or not, in this particular case, the Sapphire on the left had a higher price than the stone on the right- which is the stone I chose. It's making it's new owner very happy as you read this.
