1.20ct Fancy Light Yellow Internally Flawless Radiant Cut Diamond
When the cutter of this stone - one of the world’s most prominent cutters Natural of Fancy Colored Diamonds - called to tell me excitedly that he had a special stone to show me, I was of course, interested.
The truth is, there are times he feels a stone is special, and I do not. That doesn’t mean I won’t look every time I get one of these calls.
When the stone gets here, 15 minutes later, I am pleasantly surprised.
Damn (I mean Darn) it’s nice!
The cut is always the first thing I notice, after the color. Not that color is more important, but you see it first. Of course, in a case like this, the excellent cut functions to produce an amazing yellow sparkle. Its beautifully cut.
Unless it was issued a cut grade by GIA or AGSL, we don’t issue “cut grades” like many internet diamond sites. However, if we did this would be a Triple AAA+ (deluxe) - and sparkle it does - the entire stone.
Is it eye clean?
Well, if you look really close you can see...
JOKING - It’s been graded Internally Flawless by GIA - you can bet your bipee it’s eye clean.
About that color: this stone is about 80% the way to Fancy Yellow - the next darker grade.
About the siz:- 1.20ct is a like a “super size me” for one carat stones – don’t let Mayor Bloomberg near this (joke for the New Yorkers - he outlawed super sized sugary drinks)
