1.43ct Fancy Intense Yellow VVS2 Asscher Cut Diamond
This is among the finest Fancy Colored Asscher Cut Diamonds I've ever seen.
Asscher cuts, step cuts in general, rarely show enough color to achieve Fancy Intense Yellow- - and among the ones that do, a fair percentage are fluorescent, which in many cases affects the color. This one is a pure, true canary lemon yellow. No fluorescence.
Then, most of the step cuts in the small group that achieve the Intense grade, are pretty deep- and small for their weight. Forgetting about the fact it's an Intense Yellow - this is one of the best cut Asscher Cut diamonds you will see - in any color.
It's perfectly laid out for
• Step facet flashing - if you're a step cut lover - and you adore those large step flashes, this diamond will not disappoint
• Huge size for the weight.
Doing all this while at the same time broadcasting an even Intense yellow color- truly spectacular, and rare.
Looking at the side view, you can see the trim pavilion. That's the bottom of the stone. Many Asscher or square emeralds "bulge" in this area, adding extra weight. Yet the cutter figured a way to incorporate a nice size crown- which is a big part of why the diamond looks as amazing as it does. The ASET image below shows that the diamond draws light from a broad array of high to low angle lighting sources. This is why we see so much sparkle reagardless of the angle we're looking at this gem.
VVS2 clarity, VG/VG- this diamond does not quit.
We paid a 20% premium over a "normal" intense yellow, VS+ cushion or radiant of this size. I knew the second I saw it, we had to have it. I negotiated best as I could but the stone is simply worth that much more.
