2.03ct O-P SI2 Radiant Cut Diamond Halo Ring
The cutter of this diamond knew exactly what they were doing.
They cut it exactly like a fancy colored diamond.
In doing so, they have actually converted this O-P color to a much yellow looking diamond.
The stone has a lovely soft buttery light lemon yellow (getting hungry?)
I considered sending it back to GIA for a color recheck, as it sure looks darker than an O-P to me. I was anticipating W-X.
The reality is, W-X and O-P have the same value - which is among the lowest of all non brown colors.
To give you an idea why I feel the grade is a bit off, here are a few comparison shots.
For reasons of cost, and time, and the fact that whoever buys it will get it with a money back guarantee - I figured why fight with GIA. They have enough on their hands :)
Back to the cut - amazing in terms of sparkle - and consistent edge to edge sparkle through a range of viewing angles.
Plus it looks very large for a 2ct stone.
The clarity is SI2 - and a great on at that.
You can see the imperfection at 6pm in this shot:
Oddly enough, that feather is deep in the stone, on the bottom nowhere near the edge. It's one of them there optical illusions.
Put it all together and you have some serious stone for the coin.
It will look amazing in any number of our semi mount rings.
The Ring
This is such a pleasing, soft lemon yellow color! After having built thousands of fancy colored diamond rings, I can tell you that the results are always unpredictable. This ring came out exactly as I'd envision.
From arm's length, it almost looks like a 4ct light yellow solitaire.
Sound construction on this design. Take it off for rock climbing, or when using a sledgehammer though.
