.68ct Y-Z, Natural Light Yellow VS1 Butterfly Rose Cut Diamond
Here’s a parcel that came across our desk recently.
Looking at these stones- mostly rose cuts, the three on the right stood out to me. We purchased those three diamonds, out of the parcel.
I mean, a butterfly? Yellow Butterfly???
We had to have it.
I could have sworn it would have gotten at least Fancy Light Yellow, but GIA is tougher on yellow stones with medium or strong blue fluorescence.
Suffice it to say, the lovely light lemon yellow color is pervasive - ain’t nobody mistakin’ this for an “off color” diamond.
The clarity, at VS1 is amazing.
In some of the photos you can see lines- almost like “striations”. These are not imperfections, rather, what you are looking at is reflections from the girdle through diamond, and out the table. In real life, this has no detrimental effect on the remarkable brilliance of this rare cut. You can see this in the youtube video.
We’re thinking of setting this diamond into a necklace, but for now, its available loose.
If you want to discuss a design, we’re all ears.
The photos above are ACTUAL Photos of the diamond you will receive.
