Here is the newest batch of Diamonds by Lauren Old Mine Brilliant Diamonds - and this time the cutter really went over the edge, at my request, to find some truly wild colors. The rough was purchased for us in a lot - meaning one price for all. Then the cutter did his magic. This means we have the privilege of putting our name on stones that are among the world’s finest cut - rivaling any old mine brilliant diamonds on the market today. It also means we need to polish away a lot more of the diamond than other well cut cushion, and radiant diamonds. We also gladly accept the fact that the labor to cut such stones is far more dear than even well cut radiant or cushions on the market.
The optical properties and overall cut are excellent - the stone has tremendous sparkle.
Since the rough was purchased for us, we have photos of the diamond in the rough, prior to cutting and polishing.
Again, surprises ensued in the polished diamond.
As opposed to the stones we cut to bring out color, the cutter designed the cut of this stone to return as much white light as possible.
Of course as it makes its way out it turns... ORANGE
