Here's an incredibly pink, pink diamond. The color can be described as "Bubble Gum"
It comes from a parcel of diamonds- and the parcel comes from the Argyle mine. I know this because of my relationship with the cutter- but there's no Argyle paperwork.
Or GIA paperwork for that matter (at this point).
The color is special- over the top pink.
And it's remarkably bright! This, due to the drop dead gorgeous cut. It's an "Oval Brilliant". I'd say at least 85% of Fancy Color oval diamonds are "Oval Modified Brilliant"
The difference ( in many cases) is how the diamond sparkles- To generalize - the Oval Brilliant gives you more white flash- while the modified design bounces the light around giving you teeny sparkles.
In well cut stone- gazillions of teeny sparkles. The fact that this diamond is the brilliant style means the pink is amplified nicely.
Cool.
Yes, it's a bit imperfect. But there's no structural implications and the stone still has a ton of life.
