1.50ct O-P VS2 Cushion Cut Diamond Halo Ring
Here is a stone we purchased based on its beauty.
Let's face it, buying a 1.50ct diamond if you have $15k is a lot easier than if you have only half that.
I know that stones like this set up beautifully - because it is well cut. It will be either a soft white, or a soft yellow depending on how we set her.
Maybe a pink halo with yellow gold prongs? Of course an all white halo will look great as well.
Here is a stone of very similar color set in all white. It is an N - this stone is one shade more yellow at O-P.
Why GIA Matters
If you are a diamond shopper trying to compare apples to apples, the only way to even begin is for a shopper to compare diamonds based on grades that are consistent with each other. This is made more complicated by the multitude of gem labs issuing certificates"
Say we were shopping for an I color diamond - that is a diamond priced a lot lower than the D-E-F colors, yet a color that is still near colorless. Let's buy a hypothetical I color EGL graded stone. It's a lot less costly than the GIA graded stones of that grade.
Here is the report.
Well, we bought that diamond, and sent if off to GIA and the results came back:
O-P color.
That's not a small difference, by any means.
Mind you, we bought the diamond with a high degree of certainty it would get such a grade. However, we have highly skilled diamond graders on staff.
We sent the diamond to GIA because I will not have our clients guessing about grades.
When you think about it - it seems to me as someone who's been working in the diamond trade for many years, sellers need to be up front about the implications of non GIA reports - as opposed to using them for price leverage.
O-P is awesome - when it is cut like this - looks kind of white outdoors with the fluorescence.
We don't think convincing you the diamond is actually an I color is the way to go...
It is a lovely stone and well priced for what it is.
The Ring
Here is another twist on our very popular pink lemonade style ring. The center diamond stands out next to the pink diamond halo. The colorless diamonds add a lot of sparkle as well. This gives it a kind of "tri-level" look.
In spite of this, the ring is comfortable to wear. It is beautifully finished and set.
It is quite a substantial gold piece as well - perfect for your daily "bling-wear" The sparkle on this ring is truly amazing!
