1.04ct Fancy Brown-Pink SI2 Pear Shape Diamond Halo Ring
Just how expensive are GIA graded Natural Pink Diamonds?
The stone has a lot going for it. In general, pink diamonds are more often found with imperfections.
SI2 is actually a good grade - especially an SI2 like this one - totally innocuous. Totally eye clean
As you can see from the photos the imperfection just blends into the sparkle of the stone. The diamond is well cut giving you a an organic pear shape while being full of life.
The overall cut characteristics are more similar to the way a colorless pear diamond might be cut. There are pluses and minuses to every diamond cut design.
Many fancy colored pears are cut with no possibility of a "bow tie" - due to modifications to the bottom (pavilion).
With colorless, many cutters adopt the design of a round brilliant- more contrast- and brighter - however a "bow tie" is often a by product of the design. This diamond might be said to have one - but it really helps the cut in "projecting" pink. In person those areas really illuminate the entire diamond as they flash bright as you move the stone.
To answer the question I posed above - how costly are Natural Pink diamonds?
Well, if this ring featured a Fancy Intense Pink SI2 Pear of 1.04cts, it could easily be $200k. And this setting does a durn good job of allowing this diamond to mimic the $200k diamond.
The Ring
This ring is the result a canceled special order basically. I qualify my statement because when we had someone looking for a pink pear shape diamond, a relatively common request - and he rejected this ring because of the yellow diamonds, I looked at it again, and agreed.
So we re-made the ring.
Engagement was cancelled, so here’s the new ring.
Bottom line- the diamond looks better in this setting in my opinion.
Our hand forged Uber ring, in platinum and 18kt pink gold.
This is an exquisite piece.
The photos above are ACTUAL Photos of the diamond ring you will receive.
