Here is a gorgeous three stone diamond ring. At the center of this piece is a gorgeous cushion cut diamond. Pink Diamonds are incredibly rare. This one is a bargain since the primary color is brown..... yet in person you see a lot of pink. The cut is cool as well - chunky flashes from a soft cornered, straight sided cushion shape. Definitely looks like a carat and a half.

The GIA report is for color only- I believe GIA would have graded this diamond I1- which would explain why the cutter went for the color only report. Yet, it's a non obtrusive I1.

The reason I graded the diamond I1 is a slight feather- visible in the photo below at the right edge of the diamond, at about 3:00. The size of the feather is slightly larger than what I believe GIA would call SI2. There are no other imperfections of note. No carbon whatsoever. The feather has virtually no visible impact on the brilliance of the stone. I can see this imperfection in the photos, but not so much in real life without a loupe.

When we need to describe a diamond, we prefer to grade on the tough side. If we grade a diamond SI2 and someone appraises it as an I1, we look bad - and place a doubt in the buyers mind. We call a borderline stone like this I1- if someone appraises it as SI2 ( entirely possible) everyone feels better. Life is too short - let's feel good people! Diamonds are a good start......

Now set, the center stone looks has really come to life and looks so very pink in most lightings. The prongs are done in 18Karat Rose Gold, they are curved beautifully and have a wonderful claw shape to them. The lines on this ring are artfully done. The polish and finish are fantastic - something that can only be done by the finest craft people.

The colorless trapezoidal diamonds are a perfect compliment to the center stone in terms of cut. They also provide a lovely contrast in color to the pinkish tones of the center stone.
