From my old, really old buddy...he scours the secondary market to find desirable antique diamonds.
In this case, a transitional cut GIA calls it "Circular Brilliant"
The facets are large - giving us large, brught flashes of refelcted light. They are sometimes lovingly reffered to as "Chunky facets"
This also means the diamond faces up colorless, in spite of it's I color grade.
The diamond is not perfectly symmetrical, which really takes nothing away from the beauty- GIA noted this in it's "poor" symmetry grade. What do they know?
When my old buddy found the stone, it was showing wear from its' age- he had an expert cutter bring the stone back to "brandy new" condition"
The stone rocks in person.
