I've come to respect IGI grading on colorless diamonds - lab diamonds.
GIA is still the benchmark in natural diamonds.
This small niche of "boron blue" diamonds is an area where I think IGI is missing the mark.
This diamond is visibly blue.
A lovely shade, I'm quite sure GIA would grade it Fancy Light Blue.
Come to think of it, I am going to fire off an email to the people at IGI.
In any event, this stone is perfectly cut for this color. Dazzling crushed ice. The brilliance is great.
Totally eye clean - even with the loupe it's clean.
As I mentioned the color is visible from the top. It will look great in a halo, or three stone ring. Once it's set next to colorless diamonds, the blue will come out more.
Great value.
