Here's a very cool diamond - with a very cool story.

We sold this diamond, and it came back for a refund. That's rare for us, because of how we operate. We're not trying to "sell" people.

Instead, we prefer to show and describe the item as completely and honestly as possible and give them the opportunity to buy it. We never question the reasoning of someone when they do choose to return.

The ultimate goal is that you are satisfied. Full stop.

Anyway, in this case, the diamond has a very unusual cut. If you tilt the diamond, you can actually see through it a bit. "Windowing" and "Leakage" are two rather pejorative words to describe this phenomenon.

In reality, there are aspects that can be seen as good and bad points about pretty much every cut - and the weirder the cut, the more exaggerated both. A round brilliant will also window as you tilt it, but much less. But then again, it's a boring ol' round diamond, like 99% of the diamonds you see.

In the case of long rectangular diamonds, the effect can be exaggerated a bit when you tilt it, but then again, look at this diamond... what a kewl cut!!

The goal of this cut isn't trying to negate leakage or windows- the goal is overall beauty. In that regard, I say they succeeded - of course, that's my perspective. (I tried to show the "windowing" in the youtube)

If you love the pics and video, I think, you're going to love the diamond when you see it.
