yellow cushion cut diamond ring

1.17ct Fancy Dark Brown-Greenish Yellow Pear Shape and Assorted Fancy Colored Diamond Ring

The way this ring came about, I had absolutely nothing to do with the design. Starting with a parcel of incredibly colored round diamonds, I can never think of a good way to use them. So I cannot take credit for this design. I can tell you for sure, I would not have designed a ring like this. Having said that, I have nothing but admiration for the design.

It is absolutely gorgeous and I can't stop looking at it.

All the elements just come together. It's not like any kind of "cluster" ring I've ever seen – nor quite like any "Halo" ring I have ever seen. What I mean to say, is that instead of blending together to seem to be one large center stone, all the round diamonds, and the pear seem to grab your attention separately – the placement of the round brilliant cut stones with regard to the color is perfect. They are large enough, at about .08 carat each so that you can see the beautiful cut.

The color grades below, are my estimation and done in the setting. Some of the colors, a few of the dark pinks, the orangey diamonds, the intense yellow – these are pretty easy to see arm's-length. For the subtle ones like the faint greens, you need to look a little closer. But they are all beautifully cut and sparkle like the dickens. They are encased at one end in a bezel that is nothing short of perfection, and at the other end by common prongs that are all but invisible.

The center diamond, at VVS1, is nothing to sneeze at. The color grade, Fancy Dark Brown – Greenish Yellow means that the stone has a deep, complex color. There is a lot of green in there. But it is like a dark, olive green. A very interesting and beautiful stone. It is surrounded by a very dainty row of fancy intense yellow micro pavé stones.

The bezel itself is outlined by a delicate row of colorless micro pavé diamonds that perfectly follows the outline. The intricacy of the work is only possible through hand forged wires – perfectly polished inside and out. The shank is also made of hand forged wire.

As it rises up the side of your finger, hand forged the opens up an "mock split shank". This is a very clever design that maintains the beautiful integrity of the hand forged shank – made of extruded wire, yet adds the detail of the split shank that people love. Another cool aspect is a little surprised diamond tucked inside "V" it's quite beautiful.

So, there are 154 diamond set into this ring. It is our intention that you wear this ring every day, and comfortably at that. If your daily work involves using heavy machinery or hard work of your hands, this is not a ring for you.

The fact is, any ring can get damaged when you're wearing it. Having all these diamond set into it, means that there is more of a possibility for one of them to fall out if you hit the ring against something.

There are also times that a stone can just fall out if you don't hit the ring against something.

The possibility of stone loss exists no matter how fine the ring, or where you purchased, if we are talking about a micro pavé piece. Our clients are not on their own in this situation. We facilitate the repair of the ring. There may be the cost of shipping, but we will facilitate it. In the case of a costly ring, insurance might mean that shipping back and forth is $200-300. In many cases it is a lot less.

Whether or not you need to pay for the shipping, we will make it easy for you by sending a label – even internationally.

Once we're done, it looks brand-new. The same people that built it will repair it.

We do not look at this aspect of our business as a profit center, so even if you need to pay for the repair, it's generally not going to be very expensive.
