4.12ct Fancy Yellow VS2 Cushion Cut Diamond
On a daily basis, I navigate through the gazillion diamonds on the web to see who is offering what, and for how much. I do this so that I can empathize with people who call. It's definitely a tangled mess. I get that.
One source of confusion, is the huge disparity of prices for ostensibly identical items. Say you're searching for a Fancy Yellow. Among the dozens or hundreds of stones listed, you will find one for $350, and another with the same grade, for $7k. Why that happens is an interesting and complex discussion, but it boils down to you get what you pay for, in a vast majority of cases. In many instances, the cheapest stones on the list just are not actually available when someone tries to purchase them.
In other cases, there are aspects which are far less desirable from one example to the next - in ways a GIA report cannot always reflect. Things like purity of color. Fluorescence is a biggie, but there's other aspects that are more subtle, yet make one diamond more valuable than the next. Our job is to vet each and every diamond. If you see a diamond on our website, we've personally inspected it.
This is a very cool diamond- recently out of GIA. I love the cut - nice size for a 4ct. Great brilliance and a strong color. That's another important aspect as some Fancy Yellows are very close to Fancy Light Yellow. This one is pretty close to Fancy Intense Yellow. The stone will look amazing once we set it.
